Dr. Matthew Dailey, DDS, MD

 

 

Matthew Dailey, D.D.S., M.D., is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon who provides comprehensive oral and maxillofacial surgical care. His areas of focus include corrective jaw surgery, dental implants, facial reconstruction, wisdom teeth, and office-based anesthesia.

Dr. Dailey believes excellent care begins with listening. He takes time to understand each patient’s concerns, explain the diagnosis in clear language, and discuss treatment options without making the process feel overwhelming. His goal is to create a thoughtful plan that reflects each patient’s health, comfort, and long-term needs.

His education and training span dentistry, medicine, military service, and advanced surgical care. After earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UCLA, Dr. Dailey completed advanced general dentistry training and served four years in the U.S. Air Force. He later earned his medical degree and completed oral and maxillofacial surgery residency at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by fellowship training in facial reconstruction, corrective jaw surgery, and dental implant reconstruction. He also gained advanced corrective jaw surgery experience working at Arnett Gunson Facial Reconstruction in Santa Barbara.

 

Dr. Dailey’s connection to the Central Coast began at UC Santa Barbara. Returning to the area after years of training and military service felt like coming home. He values working closely with dentists, orthodontists, physicians, patients, and families so that care remains coordinated from the first consultation through recovery.

Outside the office, Dr. Dailey and his wife are raising three children. He enjoys coaching, surfing, spending time near the ocean, and fly fishing.
